Frequently asked questions.

You’ve got questions about auto glass service? We’ve got answers…

How difficult is the online glass claim process?

Not difficult at all. We designed our online claim form to be simple, fast, and mobile-friendly. Most drivers complete it in under 2 minutes. Just click “Start Claim” and we’ll take it from there.

Do Glass Claims affect my insurance premiums or rates?

No. In Manitoba, glass-only claims do NOT affect your insurance premiums, driver’s license premiums, or risk rating. These repairs are treated differently from collision or comprehensive claims.

Are you an MPI (Manitoba Public Insurance) accredited repair shop?

Yes. My AutoGlass is an MPI-accredited Auto Glass Repair Shop, meaning:

  • We process your claim from start to finish

  • Repairs follow certified MPI and industry standards

  • Direct billing is available (no out-of-pocket surprise costs)

MPI accreditation ensures your glass repair or replacement meets strict quality guidelines.

Do I have to contact MPI (Manitoba Public Insurance) or my insurance broker to open a glass claim?

No — we handle everything for you.
You simply submit the quick online form, and we take care of contacting MPI, opening the claim, and handling all related paperwork.
Our goal is to remove the hassle from the process entirely.

My vehicle was broken into — what do I do?

First, don’t panic. Here’s what to do:

  1. File a police report online and write down the report number.

  2. Start a claim with us — it takes less than a minute.

  3. We’ll review your deductible and guide you step-by-step.

Good news:
If your deductible is $200 or less, MPI usually waives the deductible for vandalism glass claims.
If it's more than $200, we’ll explain the most cost-effective option.

How do I find out how much my deductible is??

Your deductible is listed on the white portion of your Manitoba vehicle registration under the section labeled “ALL PERILS.”

What if I don’t have time to dropoff my vehicle for glass repair?

No problem.
If you’re in Morden, Winkler, or the surrounding Pembina Valley, we offer mobile service. In areas where mobile repair isn’t suitable (ex: ADAS calibration is required), we provide pickup and drop-off options when possible.

Just start a claim and we’ll coordinate everything.

Is there any Warranty on Auto Glass Repairs?

Yes. All our glass installations and repairs come with a Lifetime Workmanship Warranty. If there’s ever an issue related to our installation, we fix it at no cost.

How long does a windshield replacement take?

Most windshield replacements take 2–3 hours, depending on the vehicle and features. If your vehicle has ADAS (cameras/sensors), calibration may add extra time to ensure the system works safely and accurately.

Will a stone chip repair make the damage completely disappear?

Not always.
Even a successful repair may leave a small, faint blemish at the impact point.
The purpose of a stone chip repair is to:

  • Stop the crack from spreading

  • Restore windshield strength

  • Improve clarity (but not always make it invisible)

The repair is mainly about safety and prevention, not cosmetic perfection.

Do you offer mobile auto glass service in Manitoba?

Yes. We provide mobile glass repair for many services within Morden and Winkler. For vehicles requiring ADAS calibration, shop service is recommended for accuracy and safety.

What types of vehicle glass do you repair or replace?

We service all vehicle types, including:

  • Cars, SUVs, vans

  • Pickup trucks and work trucks

  • Luxury vehicles

  • Older vehicles

  • Windshields, side glass, back glass, quarter and vent windows

Can I choose where to get my glass repaired even if I open a claim with MPI?

Absolutely. Under Manitoba law, you can choose any accredited shop for your glass repair. MPI does not force you to use a specific location.
